Alright look, I didn’t expect to be out here getting my whole life checked by a devotional written by a lady who seems to have had a PI on me or something, but here we are. Melanie wrote this like she had my browser history, feelings, and childhood all open on the table. Every chapter is real, honest, and hits you hard leaving you thinking “wow okay, God, relax your hurting my feelings type of conviction” But then she slips in so much humor that you can’t even stay mad. It’s like therapy, but cheaper and with better storytelling. It tells you what you need to hear not what you want to which I believe to be whats best 4 people. You’ll laugh, you’ll think, you’ll question your decisions and somehow she’ll make you feel closer to God without you even realizing when it happened. Amazing book. Serious wisdom. And somehow still funny enough that even me who rarely reads finished it

Last night I finished her book. I started reading it, and I couldn't put it down after a few chapters. That is definitely not normal for me. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. I loved how she weaved real-life stories with relevant bible quotes and inspiration. Sometimes it had me in tears when I had related moments. The last chapter was tough. Because we lived through that fire and the one before, she helps remind us that He never leaves us, even in those moments. It’s funny, as traumatic as the fires were, that’s precisely how I found her. She makes great connections that can help our journey, and after reading the entire book, I felt much more optimistic. It’s just wonderful!

Melanie shares stories and her walk with God in the most hilarious, inspiring, cleaver and intelligent way. You can feel her love for God, her husband and her family in every word written. I love the Heart Checks, Declarations & Prayers at the end of each chapter. They helped me go deeper into my own faith walk with God which was very helpful and insightful. Thank you Melanie for being so honest and vulnerable. You are an inspiration of faith. I purchased a dozen copies to share with everyone I know because EVERYONE HAS TO KNOW!!

I love this book so much I’m ordering more for Christmas presents. The author shares wisdom through humor, personal stories of redemption, and profound yet simple truths that stop you in your tracks. She ends each chapter with thought provoking questions. If you allow time, to really reflect through her questions, they will stretch your faith and help you walk closer to God. You can feel her contagious faith through her words; and you know our Father is using her unique voice to show us all how much He loves us.

I loved this thoughtful, humorous and very relatable book. While this book is fun and easy to read, it is also thought provoking and written to transform the heart and soul. I could revisit this book easily in a year from now and re-read it from cover to cover. Finally, a devotional that actually fits a mom’s schedule! my pass time for when my son is asleep .It’s written like a personal diary and I love that about it , making it easy to grab a dose of encouragement before my son wakes up.
